Here you can learn 9 handy tips to help you with achieving SafeContractor accreditation. Our dedicated in-house team of technical experts can support you through the accreditation process, but there are actions you can take to help speed the process up. Here are 9 tips for achieving SafeContractor accreditation.

1. Be accurate about the number of employees you have

Don’t confuse your employees with your subcontractors. Your employees work under your insurances and procedures, while your subcontractors work to their own, so bear this mind when you’re disclosing your business size.

2. Select the correct work activities for accreditation

It’s important to know that you and your employees can only be accredited for work that you directly carry out and are competent to do.

3. Keep a record of your documentation

This will help with the submission and annual assessment, as well as your record keeping in general. We will need to see evidence from the last 12 months, so it's important that you have all your documentation to hand.

4. Make sure your contact details are up to date

Make sure your contact details, such as your telephone number, email address and business address, are correct as we will need to contact you regarding the accreditation.

5. Upload up-to-date documents at any time, and submit when the questionnaire is released

You can log in to the portal at any time to upload your updated documents. This way, you’ll be ready to submit when the questionnaire is released 30 days before your accreditation expiry date.

6. Keep your membership number readily available

We will need your certificate number and your username for the portal to be able to identify your account when you call us, so it’s worth keeping this information handy.

7. Choose a package to suit your needs

We offer four membership packages, so you can opt for the one that best suits your needs. Our in-house audit team can provide you with the assistance you need to achieve accreditation.

8. Get help when you need it

If you're struggling to get your documentation and policies together, why not get some external advice? Alcumus PSM's health and safety experts can help you get through the accreditation process. As a SafeContractor member, you're entitled to a 20% discount.
